CSA 2021

Options:

We offer a full CSA from May until November or a half CSA from May until August or August until November. The size of the share is for 2 adults. Multiple shares can be purchased for one household if your demand is higher. We also have extra items (including eggs) available that can be purchased when you are picking up your share.

A weekly share will look something like this (depending on availability and season):

  • ½ lb salad mix or ½ lb spinach or ¼ lb arugula or ¼ lb mache (all washed) value $4-6
  • 2.3 oz shoots (sunflower shoots, pea shoots or shoot mix – all washed) value $3.50
  • 1 seasonal herb value $2
  • 4 units of vegetables or occasionally flowers and spring transplants (you can expect the following: beans, beet greens, beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, celeriac, chard, cucumbers, daikon, fennel, flowers, garlic, kale, kohlrabi, red/yellow onions, pac choi, peas, peppers sweet and hot, potatoes, radicchio, fresh radish, black/watermelon radish, rutabaga, shallots, winter squash, sunchokes, tomatoes (cherry, heirloom, paste), tomatillos, salad turnips, zucchini, veggie/herb/flower transplants) value $3-4 each

All vegetables are certified organic and the vast majority will be grown on our own farm. In addition, we work with Nature’s Route Farm in Pointe du Bûte, NB and with Maple Shade Farm in Noel, NS.

Egg option (add-on)

1 dozen eggs each week (from Happy Bird Eggs-Upper Kennetcook – the hens are fed conventional non-GMO feed and are free range with access to the outside).

Dates:

Full Season (26 weeks)
Start date: May 19th Wednesday pickup/ May 22nd Saturday pickup
End date: November 10th Wednesday pickup/ Nov 13th Saturday pickup

Half Season (13 weeks)
Start date: May 19th Wednesday pickup/ May 22nd Saturday pickup
End date: August 11th Wednesday pickup/ August 14th Saturday pickup
or
Start date: August 18th Wednesday pickup/ August 21st Saturday pickup
End date: November 10th Wednesday pickup/ Nov 13th Saturday pickup

Pricing:

Vegetable Box:  $25/week
(full season 26 weeks x $25 = $650, half season 13 weeks x $25 = $325)

Add-on 1 dozen eggs: $5.75/week
(full season 26 weeks x $5.75 = $149.50, half season 13 weeks x $5.75 = $74.75)

We ask you to pay in advance by May 7th for a May start.
Payments can be made by cheque or e-transfer (more details when you sign up).

Pick up:

You are in charge of picking up your weekly share at our designated pick-up spots. We will be on-site with our van, and sell additional produce as it is available. (Bring cash!)
Note: Social distancing practices will be followed and handling will only be done by the Four Seasons employee who will be following safety protocols.

Tuesdays:
4-4:30pm Maitland (Four Seasons Farm driveway, 8244 Hwy 215)

Wednesdays:
4–5:30pm – Dartmouth (Location to be confirmed; we are hoping to continue at Findlay Community Centre parking lot, 26 Elliot St.)

Saturdays:
9-11am – Halifax (Brewery Farmers Market; exact location to be determined, but likely the parking lot on Lower Water Street)

Boxes that don’t get picked up will be donated to a local food bank.
